The Game

If you can dream and not make dreams your master
if you can think and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
and treat those two impostors just the same;
if you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
or watch the things you gave your life to broken
and stoop to build them up with worn out tools...

What else is there but to keep going?

Quitting is not an option...never for a warrior. So what else is there? Even in the face of futility, you keep going. Even in the face of certain "disaster"...damn the torpedoes...full speed ahead.

If you were to hear the words, "You're almost there." Would it bring you comfort?
If you were to hear the words, "Don't expect to finish anything in this lifetime." Would it bring you joy and relief?

Why continue if you will not experience completion or so final execution that ends the process? Well, why are you doing the process in the first place?

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
and risk it all on a turn of pitch and toss
and lose, and start again at your beginnings
and never breathe a word about your loss...

Why are you playing the game? To win? To practice?

If you were to hear the words, "You won!" Does that bring happiness? Do the words, "You are right!" do the same?
If you hear the words, "Wrong!" or, "You lose!" are you distraught? Do you lose your power?

Here is the real question we are getting at?

What is the driving force in your life?

Attach everything you do to it.

Discover it's source! Is it fear or power based? Is a gift or a curse passed down through your family? Is it based in trauma or survival? Is it based on God or the desire to thrive?

WHY ARE YOU PLAYING THE GAME?

Game on,
Aaron
